Gene Tunney (1897-1978)

Tunney was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1926 to 1928.  His win against former champion, Jack Dempsey in 1927, known as The Long Count Fight, made boxing history. He was also a well-read man of culture who shared a life-long friendship with the Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw.
