Lester Piggott (b. 1935)
Schwartz’s suite, The Berkeley Hotel, London

Piggott was a professional horse jockey with several thousand wins included nine at the Epsom Derby.
He ‘seemed totally relaxed’ and ‘was certainly most cooperative and patient as I tried a variety of lighting effects’, Schwartz wrote. ‘When I had finished, he very calmly announced that he would have to leave…that evening I discovered he had gone on to ride in no less than three races – and had won them all!’
