Marcus Sieff was the chairman of the British retailer, Marks and Spencer from 1972 to 1984. He was invited in 1948 by David Ben Gurion to become an adviser on transportation and supplies for the Israeli Defense Ministry. He was involved with several Israeli and Jewish charitable organisations including the Joint Israel Appeal.
