Dame Zandra Rhodes (b. 1940)

At home, Paddington, London
23 June 1977

Rhodes was part of the new wave of British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s. She designed clothes for the British royal family and celebrities including the Rock band, Queen.

‘I saw a canopied bed displaying various fabrics of her design, and decided to use that setting’, the photographer recollected.
